Worldwide Knit in Public Day 2026
A chance for knitters of all levels of skills to come together, enjoy each other’s company and share their knitting knowledge.
We’re delighted to be celebrating Worldwide Knit In Public Day with this free drop-in event at SCRAP.
Join us from 10am where you will find knitters of all levels of skills enjoying the chance to show that knitting can be fun, creative and challenging.
Everyone is welcome to drop in and learn or share your knitting skills in a warm, friendly and supportive environment – just turn up between 10am – 2pm. Bring your own project, come with your questions or be ready to absorb it all and soak up the knitting knowhow, you can even join in with the Knitting & Crochet Guild’s challenge, see below…
On the day we will be joined by our friends the Knitting & Crochet Guild who will be undertaking Game of Wool. They will split into several teams to create a knitted or crocheted outfit for a Chemo Duck*, in three hours. Basic patterns will be provided, but imagination and flair are the order of the day. If you would like to join in this fundraiser the cost will be £3 per person, payable in cash on the day, which will be donated to Blue Light Babies, the charity that distributes the Chemo Duck outfits. Just bring some needles/hooks and acrylic DK yarn of your choice.
If you are able to come along on the day and share your skills please let us know by emailing hello@scrapstuff.co.uk.
* Chemo Ducks are given to children undergoing cancer treatment and they can choose an outfit for their duck.
